Veronica's #WritersDiary; The Muse has Spoken, It's Back to the #Writing Zone!

“Use that fluff of yours you call a brain.”

Agatha Christie

Well, it looks like NaNoWriMo season is coming early for moi this year. Gemma has a story she wants to tell and has let me know she wants the writing to commence! One mustn't upset the muse, so I'm starting the seventh book in the My American Almost Royal Cousin Series. This time, we're back at Cherrywood Hall where the Maidenford village fete will be held (although we may have to include a London trip to Hillcrest--I want to see what progress Kyle has made on the Caverne Homme front). As we know in every cozy mystery....

(Yes, I do own the sign 👆 could not resist😁)The vineyard grounds at Cherrywood Hall are getting a makeover for the fete to showcase the rides, contests (the best cake competition will leave you in stitches), plenty of food and drink, and a Roaring Twenties dance. Throw in an adulterous duo with mur-dah on their minds; the toddler twins and Figgy; a star-studded wedding; and a new addition to the Lancaster-Williams household and you have the makings for an entertaining, cozy tale. I'm thinking this one will be a mix of Agatha Christie's Dead Man's Folly and the film Let's Give Them Something to Talk About, a combo I think covers the drama and fun ahead--what can possibly go wrong?!

Look for some new vignettes at the Cherrywood Hall vineyard to entertain the crowds...

Our trips to the wine country earlier this year gave me loads of inspiration for this latest tale. There will be plenty of new areas for guests to roam--who knows what you might stumble across in the light of day or dark of night...#UhOh

Wish me luck--the next few months are going to be busy. I'm super stoked for this latest tale though, we're going to have loads of fun...#CinCin 🍇💀🍷

Blood on the Vines: Harvest at Castlewood Manor is coming in early 2022! It's Wednesday, time for #DearDiary:

The #BookReviews for 🕸TANGLED WEBS🕸 are coming in!

Bibiana and I are very grateful to all the readers who have left us the awesome book reviews to date. We also truly appreciate the kind RTs and shout outs on social media too. We're sliding into the prime book selling season, it's all hands on deck to promote our books and to help our fellow authors feature their books as well. Huge, huge thanks to all--it takes a #writing village to make those sales! xo

Christmas Bizarre: Rikkhe St. Claire Hygge & Bisous Holiday Mysteries is in the Seller Queue!

Big thank you to Bibiana Krall and her Compass Bespoke Technical Services for getting my final book of 2021 loaded and ready to launch on the seller platforms. I will have a November 1st release date for this holiday mystery collection. It looks amazing! I'll be starting the promos for this book in the next few weeks, stay tuned! #HoHoHo

Something's eating the suns this week from the writers of Twitter...

Author Andy Weir, Project Hail Mary, 5

The sun is losing its shine, threatening to throw the earth into a permanent ice age if the cause and a fix is not found. Science teacher, Ryland Grace is part of an international team of scientists and technology experts working on all possible scenarios to save the Earth and its beings from extinction.

Ryland makes an astounding discovery of the cause of the havoc. The research now turns to how to bring the threatening menace under control. Humanity's one hope may lie in the star system of Tau Ceti--one of the few stars not being extinguished. It's a high risk mission that is life and death for all involved--will the interstellar team find out how to save the sun in time for mankind?

Author Weir has written a fast paced, Sci-Fi tale that will keep you on the edge 'til the final page. The science and technology aspects were brilliantly explained giving readers a first hand view into the complex world of space travel. There are twists and turns you will not expect that entertain and give hope in this race to the finish to save the solar system. I highly recommend this book--it's a superb read!

Next up in the #reading queue:

Well Hello, Oktoberfest!

We're heading to the hills--Big Bear Lake in this case, to tip a few suds to celebrate Oktoberfest. The weekend celebrations are in full swing once more and I for one am looking forward to sampling the sauerbraten and schnitzels to go along with the amber brews. Hard to believe we're in the final quarter of 2021, but after everything we've lived through the past two years, this SoCal gal is ready for the crisp mountain air and festivities. Check out your local listings--I'm sure you'll find an Oktoberfest celebration near you!

Welcome to my world. Enjoy the rest of your #week and #weekend friends!

Crowns and Kisses,

Veronica

P.S. Next week I'll show some mountain pictures from Big Bear--guess who'll be wearing her faux furs and boots?! Gemma and Rikkhe approve 💖👑

Big Bear sounds like a perfect escape! I wish we had a real festival like that where I live, it's mostly beer and not really the best food.

Congrats on starting a new book! Blood on the Vines sounds great! That mediation maze in the photo is so cool. Thank you for sharing your writer's life with us and thanks even more for writing a wonderful blog I look forward to every Wednesday! Happy Harvest!
