“Spring being a tough act to follow, God created June.”
Al Bernstein

Well, hello, June! The sixth month of the year has arrived and with it comes the fun season of summertime!
I've kicked off the coming of summer with a mini reni at Cherrywood Hall west to keep this cozy mystery writer inspired...

Inspired by Joanna Gaines's new show, Mini Reni, I decided it was time to make a change. I cleared out the daybed and desk and brought in an oversized leather chair and chest to hold all my writing goodies. I discovered at the age of 67 I don't like writing at a desk anymore, LOL. My new space allows me to stretch out, chill, stare into space, and create, surrounded by my favorite things!
As summer begins, a new season of change emerges. I was ready for my re-do, things had been the same for many years and I needed fresh, inspiring surroundings. I love the energy my writing room has now!

Wishing you a wonderful start to your summer! What's on your summer TBR list? It's Wednesday, time for Dear Diary:

The Writing Continues...
This latest tale with Gemma and friends has kept me on my creative toes. Keeping things fresh and exciting in a series is a special challenge. You need to give readers details and background to bring them up to speed, yet don't want to bog done the book with repeats. It's a delicate writing balance. Hopefully, the (sometimes outrageous) twists and turns will keep readers engaged. If you're a writer, I think you're going to enjoy this new tale... ✍🏻📚

V's Reads
Chills and wartime thrills from the writers of X...
A horrific find turns into a tale of terror in Author Stark's short story, Born of the Dark. A child is found, having been held prisoner in the darkness of her deranged parent's basement for ten years.
How will she survive in the world of normal? You'll soon find out. A terror-ific tale, sure to send chills down your spine. Read this if you dare but keep the lights on. It's better that way.
Three unlikely people meet in war torn Singapore, struggling to escape as the Japanese invaders wreak havoc upon the city. George Adams, a correspondent for the London times is haunted by the tragic death of his wife. Debonair Thomas Montclair, seems to know everyone, but is he hiding his true profession? Lady Jane Carrington Smythe, an English aristocrat on the run from her home in India--what secrets pushed her away from a seemingly ideal life?
Author Miller's World War 2 drama will keep you on edge. The danger and excitement are brilliantly told, with outcomes that will leave you breathless at times. The characters are intriguing, their backstories poignantly explained. This is a thrilling read, highly recommended!
RIP Sweet Friend
My heart is still heavy with the passing of my friend, and editor, Theresa Snyder. She became part of my writing circle with book 3, Deadly Receptions, and through the years, I had come to value her keen insights and writing suggestions more and more. For those of you who are readers of my series, she was the voice of Figgy, the psychic, Scottish nanny in my tales. I love how she gave this character some sass and attitude!
Theresa was also a prolific writer, best known for her children's dragon series, The Farloft Chronicles. She had readers and friends from around the world. Rest easy, dear one. 🐲💖 You can check out Theresa's books here:
Welcome to my world. Wishing you and yours a spectacular start to your summer, enjoy the sunshine. Happy June!
Crowns and Kisses,
Veronica
P.S. Summertime here means plunges in the pool, grillin' and chillin', and of course, getting ready for that most wonderful time of year, the Hallmark Christmas in July movies! The countdown is on! Gemma and Rikkhe approve 💖👑
