Well hello, December! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, and a bountiful Black Friday and Cyber Monday bargain quest, LoL. I had loads of holiday fun with my nieces, grand kiddies, and in-laws selling our craft goods at the Cowgirl Christmas Boutique in Paso Robles after the big eat-a-thon day. I’ve started the #holiday season with a bang (yes the credit cards are still smokin’ 🙂 ). We had a quick turn around this week as we jetted off to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, my first time visiting this great state. I’m hoping to log in quite a bit of #InspirationResearch this trip (and check out the Christmas lights of course)!
On the outskirts of the town of Jackson, Wyoming, is the setting for my latest book in my new American Hygge & Bisous Mystery Series. Rikkhe St. Claire is off to this mountain frontier land, ready to whip up her Hygge design magic for a family mansion that holds more than a few tragic secrets (dun-dun-dun). This trip we’re staying at the lovely Four Seasons resort in near-by Teton Village to scope out the book settings. Sleigh rides, Moet stations by the fire, hot pools in the snow, and winter wonderland mountain views–it’s Wednesday, time for #DearDiary:
5 STAR book reviews, Mistletoe and Mayhem, Yuletide at Castlewood Manor available at these fine retailers!
Special thanks to all the readers from the US, UK, and Canada who have posted the fabulous book reviews for Mistletoe and Mayhem, Yuletide at Castlewood Manor! Your support is amazing and very much appreciated. Here’s a few of the comments so far:
Mistletoe and Mayhem: Yuletide at Castlewood Manor (My American Almost Royal Cousin Series Book 4) by Veronica Cline Barton was a delight to read. I’ve enjoyed reading the entire series and this book doesn’t disappoint, as we once more join Gemma Lancaster PhD and her wonderful and handsome fiancée Lord Kyle at the family estate in the English countryside just before the Christmas holidays.
Mistletoe & Mayhem, Yuletide at Castlewood Manor is the crown jewel of Veronica Cline Barton’s amazing My American Almost-Royal Cousin Series! I’ve been a huge fan since book one, The Crown for Castlewood Manor, and each time I read a new ‘Gemma book,’ I am convinced Cline Barton can’t possibly top the story just read. But she does! Every time. Mistletoe and Mayhem is the perfect holiday read – as a stand-alone title or if you’re reading along with the series, which I hope you are. Veronica’s writing is addictive and I’d dare anyone to read one page and not fall in love with heroine, Gemma, all the other characters, including ghostly Pippa who haunts Cherrywood Hall aka Castlewood Manor of the popular British TV series.
This was a delight to read, and the backdrop of the Yuletide season adds to the warmth, mystery, and luxurious atmosphere at Castlewood Manor. Be prepared to be enveloped and immersed in Gemma’s life and love, and join her in surprising twists and turns, a handsome hero, a heart-stealing dog, and plenty of gourmet food, cocktails, and danger lurking where you’d least expect them. This is a great holiday read with an ending that’s surprising and heartfelt.
If you are a fan of the Castlewood Manor series then you will love this one. Beautifully written, gives you that warm festive feeling in preparation for the Christmas season.
Book reviews are the best gift you can give any writer! My latest #HolidayRead can be found at these fine retailers:

Holiday romance this week from the writers of Twitter…
Author S.S. Bazinet, Holiday Hiccups, 5 STARS
Gloria is hosting Thanksgiving dinner for her family, frantically trying to make everything just perfect. Her parent’s divorce has impacted everyone and she wants to make this a much needed festive event. Her brother has invited childhood friend Stanley Bickerman over as a last minute guest–his early arrival saves Gloria from more than a few Thanksgiving turmoil’s in the kitchen, making her dinner a pleasant gathering for all.
Stanley’s calming presence brings out many buried emotions for Gloria–she’s a successful realtor, is in a relationship with a business oriented guy, so why is she having an emotional meltdown? As she ponders the options for her future, will Gloria take a chance on new love, shaking free from her preconceived notions, or remain in her safety zone?
Author Bazinet takes us through a heartwarming story of a woman and her family working through the emotions of the past, and finding strength and courage to change buoyed by their love and hope in this charming holiday tale. A great read for the holidays, highly recommended!
