Veronica's #WritersDiary: Giving Thanks!

“I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual. It is surprising how contented one can be with nothing definite - only a sense of existence. Well, anything for variety. I am ready to try this for the next ten thousand years, and exhaust it. How sweet to think of! My extremities well charred, and my intellectual part too, so that there is no danger of worm or rot for a long while. My breath is sweet to me. O, how I laugh when I think of my vague indefinite riches. No run on my bank can drain it, for my wealth is not possession but enjoyment.”

― Henry David Thoreau

An attitude of gratitude, not just for a day, but for eternity. A noble goal to aspire to, don't you think? As we take time to enjoy and reflect on this upcoming day of Thanksgiving, what are you grateful for?

Friends and family top my list. I cherish the daily calls, personal visits, and social media interactions. I'm grateful for all the times this year I have enjoyed the interchange, comradery, and marveled at the kind actions and words of support. #YouRock

Laughter is the best medicine...

"Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare. They are consumed in twelve minutes. Half-times take twelve minutes. This is not coincidence.”

― Erma Bombeck

Keep the quips coming--in this day and age they mean the world! 😁

Traveling once again... Oh, how nice it has been to take trips across the country and visit new places. I will never, ever, never take any trip for granted! 🌎

Writing in 2022... I am so grateful to have been able to publish 3 books in 2022 (and achieve a GRAND PRIZE Firebird Book Award WIN with Bibiana Krall for Wicked Mist!) I'm also working hard to complete my #WIP for book 8 in my cozy series before year end. A banner writing year, indeed!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday weekend, I am so grateful to have you in my world! It's Wednesday, time for #DearDiary:

Holy Snowballs, It's a Cozy Mystery Christmas!

It's that most wonderful time of year again and Black-Friday and Cyber-Monday sales have begun. I have two cozy mystery novels and two short story collections with Christmas themes---these four eBooks are now 99 cents on Amazon. Snuggle up by the fire and enjoy!

Peril in the City of Lights this week from the writers of Twitter...

Author Rhys Bowen, Peril in Paris, 5⭐

Mummy-to-be Georgie takes a lovely trip to Paris with her dashing husband, Darcy in this latest Royal Spyness tale. While he's working on a secret assignment, she'll be staying with her friend Belinda, who's designing for the spring shows at Chanel.

Her days and nights are jam packed as she enjoys the sights this wonderful city offers, as well as meeting a few of Belinda's bohemian crowd which includes Hemingway and Gertrude Stein. On the fashion scene, society's finest, including royal nemesis, Mrs. Simpson are set to view the designer creations--will a last-minute request by Darcy place his wife in danger?

It's ooh-la-la peril in this Parisian whodunnit. It's always fun to see what one of my fav cozy sleuths and her family and friends are up to!

Next up in the reading queue:

Guess where I'll be this Thanksgiving weekend...

The Cowgirl Christmas event in beautiful Paso Robles, CA, that's where! I'm selling my books and my two, lovely nieces are selling their version of the crown jewels and crafty creations. I love attending/participating in this event--lots of great items for sale and always loads of laughs to be had. I spy Christmas gift shopping in my future---the credit cards will be smokin'! 🎀🎄🎁

Welcome to my world. Have a wonderful, Thanksgiving holiday weekend friends!

Crowns and Kisses,

Veronica

P.S. We're staying at the beautiful Allegretto again for this Thanksgiving road trip. I think sitting by the fire, under the stars, with a nice glass of vino is the perfect way to end the day after selling books at the fair! Rikkhe and Gemma approve 💖👑
