Veronica's #WritersDiary, Celebrating #Thanksgiving2020!
Happy almost Thanksgiving🦃! It's the day before the big eat-a-thon here in the U.S., a time to loosen those belts and enjoy the bounty of the kick-off of the holiday season with family and friends...OR NOT. Welcome to #Thanksgiving2020!
Since lockdown/quarantine life began in March, I haven't worn a belt thanks to my constant wardrobe of fringed T-Party yoga pants as my go-to attire ( this girl from the 70s will never give up her fringe!). This year the big dinner will be a pared-down, stay-at-home event for 2 (plus 2 cats, one of whom is a #turkey aficionado!) #Lockdown limitations and a surge in the #virus spread cancelled travel plans and gatherings once again here in the Golden State (sigh).
Rumor has it they are still going ahead with the Macy's #ThanksgivingDay parade tomorrow (sans spectators)--and it will only be available for TV viewing as segments will have been pre-recorded in undisclosed locations. Have you been to NYC at #Thanksgiving or #Christmas? I thought I'd share some of my fav NYC pics this week that were taken in pre-COVID times to remind everyone what a beautiful locale NYC used to be during the holidays...

A psychological drama this week from the #writers of Twitter...
Author Brenda Guiton, Beneath the Poison Tree, 5🌟
Dawn has a seemingly ideal life--the perfect man, a beautiful home she keeps running smoothly and a warm family environment. The problem is she's the sister-in-law, not the wife. All that she covets belongs to her sister. When she finds out about a scandalous secret, the cracks of her ideal world start to emerge, leading to a plot and scheme that unleashes unforeseen consequences.
Years pass, the pangs of a tragic loss subside, and Dawn seems on the verge of having it all. She's ready to take a fateful step, but Karma has other plans in store. Jealousy, envy and anger emerge in full throttle, threatening everything she holds dear. As revenge fueled plans progress, truths emerge--will she and her family ever be the same?
Author Guiton proves once again she is a master of psychological suspense in this latest tale of misguided desires. The suspense builds page after page--I couldn't put it down! A delightfully wicked read that keeps you on the edge, highly recommended!
